I've been a Catherine Russell fan since the first time I heard her, and maintain that if ours were a country worthy of respect, she would be one of our most famous citizens. As you know, Alec Wilder had the incomprehensible certainty that the only songs which deserved to be a part of The Great American Songbook were from Broadway.
